About me… January 8, 2010

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Allysa Johnson and I am currently in my fourth and final year of Elementary Education at the University of Regina. As I near the end of my educational journey, I can’t believe how fast the years have flown by. I thought high school went by fast, but that was nothing compared to my past four years of University! Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Early on I developed a passion for teaching – especially teaching young children. I knew this was the direction I needed to take in my life. Aside from this passion for teaching, growing up I always had many interests, many passions that I dedicated countless hours to. From the time I was in early elementary until I graduated from high school I spent countless hours at dance class, took voice lessons, sang in concert choirs and vocal jazz,  and played a role in every drama production I could possible audition for. When I came to University, four years ago, I gave up the majority of my passions – I quit dancing, was no longer in choir or taking voice lessons, and quit auditioning for drama productions, my sole focus was on school. Of course I didn’t give up on everything that made me happy! I still spend time with friends, go out dancing, sing in my car (and sometimes the shower), and I can be quite dramatic! Sometimes in life, priorities change but I feel that when you  have a strong passion for something, no matter how little  time you contribute to it, your passions will always remain strong. In closing, I can’t imagine a world without laughter, love, friends or family – all of these things have made me who I am today, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of my life holds for me! Here’s to the next chapter in my life… cheers everyone!
